As part of the EU cross-border cooperation project "RE-TREAD", aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of elderly and disabled people in the cross-border area of Croatia and Serbia, the cycle of education for professional staff of special hospitals has been completed. This important step contributes to ensuring even better quality care for our patients, especially the elderly and the most vulnerable.
During the year 2025, DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization) and Schroth method trainings were conducted. The first two modules of the DNS method were held in the premises of Lipik Spa. The final, third module was held from December 1 to 3 in the newly opened thermal heritage interpretation center - Villa Dobre Vode, which is an important space for presenting the rich thermal heritage of Lipika. Thus, the educational program that brings modern rehabilitation techniques adapted to the needs of patients with problems of the musculoskeletal and neurological systems has been completed.
In parallel with that, education in the Schroth method, which represents a modern and scientifically based approach to the treatment of scoliosis and other spinal deformities, was held at the Special Rehabilitation Hospital "Junaković" Apatin, thereby further expanding the range of rehabilitation services available to our patients.
The completed educations represent a significant step forward in strengthening the capacity of partner hospitals. Now we can offer new, modern physiotherapy methods as part of an improved rehabilitation program, using modern equipment and work methods adapted to the specific needs of each patient. This not only improves the quality of health care, but also strengthens the cross-border cooperation of experts, which in the long term brings innovations in diagnostics and therapy.
The "RE-TREAD" project, financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A IPA CBC program Croatia-Serbia, with a total budget of over 1.4 million euros, represents a permanent platform for the modernization and improvement of health capacities in our region.
